Early in our lives, many of us look past the present into an imagined future we wish we had.

Later in our lives, many of us look back and dwell on successes and regrets.

This is often true of our relationships as well. We’re either looking beyond the present reality or looking back at some experience in the past, or something we wish we’d have done differently.

God’s desire is for us to experience fullness of life in the here and now, which leads to great joy in the future. In our marriages, parenting, dating – the relationships that matter most – let’s work to engage fully, in the present moments, in the present stages, committing ourselves to honor God in all we do.
